Janome VS Brother Embroidery Machines - What's

The two most popular manufacturers of embroidery machines are Janome and Brother.

First let's look at what the 2 brands have in common:

Stitch Quality Most people would be hard pressed to demonstrate a variation in stitch quality between these 2 manufacturers. This statement is so accurate that you don't find the 2 companies even evaluating or advertising their machines based on a comparison of stitch quality due to the fact they are both that good.

Technological Capabilities Here again both the Brother and Janome Embroidery Machines are comparable in their ability to use a flash drive and on some models, the capacity to edit and import the design from a computer using a USB port. The same goes for design and features which are similar and pretty much standard on the digital models regardless of the manufacturer.

User Opinions In my own experience and in my further exploration it appears most users have a tendency to be brand loyal to the brand they already own. This is telling, because it indicates that buyers of both brands generally appear to be happy with their machine's overall performance.

Where the actual comparative data amongst these 2 types of embroidery machines is found is in the evaluations by users who have used or still use both the Janome and Brother machine. Here I found users normally liked both of them but when a viewpoint of one over the other was depicted, Brother was the winner.

These seasoned embroiderers cited 'comfort' and 'ease of use' as factors why they preferred Brother over Janome. None of them however, complained about Janome and agreed their Janome machines are great as well.

My analysis also found that those who currently owned both brands, and were planning to buy another or an additional machine, said they were planning to buy yet another model manufactured by Brother.

The Real Distinction So, that brings me to the conclusion. What is the genuine distinction between Janome and Brother embroidery machines? If it's not the stitch quality and it's not their technology or user capabilities; what is it?

It's the Price Brother Machine Models in contrast to the equal Janome Models were at times a few hundred dollars less. That's a big difference and one of the reasons why Brother Embroidery Machines are so preferred.
