What? There is no such thing as Applique Quilting! Well, to be exact, yes that is true. Yet for me, they go hand in hand. When I make a quilt, it is natural for me to want to applique it. There are all sorts of applique techniques and they go with quilting. So why not applique quilting? A new term, maybe.

This method is the traditional method of our grandmother's and before. It can be done anywhere as long as you have your sewing kit with you.

Machine Applique has become very popular for it is very fast. You can whip up a appliqued quilt top in no time with machine applique. Stitches include blind stitch, satin stitch or fancy stitch. It does not take a fancy sewing machine either. Any machine will do as long as you cover or lower the feed-dogs.
